As a founder of The Memorial City Game Room Preservation Society, Karl Paetzel orchestrates a celebration of Houston's arcade gaming legacy. He offers a unique perspective shaped by his upbringing in Houston during the 1970s and 1980s. Recognized for his contributions to preserving and promoting Texas history and culture, Karl was honored by the Governor of Texas with the title of Admiral in the Texas Navy. Additionally, he’s a self-taught software programmer who’s been designing and coding video games since 1981. Beyond that, he revels in the energetic rhythms of New Wave music, rounding out his multifaceted passions.
